Iron Warriors by chaotea Iron Warriors by chaotea
My two friends who visted me a while back bought be this chaos marine kit as a belated christmas present.

I desided to make iron warriors after thinking over the supliment rules i did recently. I turned my squad champion into a warsmith with alittle converion work.
While most of the parts throughout the army are from the CSM kit, the following are from others:
- The warsmiths head is from the grey knights.
- the warsmiths power weapon (hammer) is from the space wolves.
- the warsmiths plama pistol and back pack are from the space marine tactical squad kit.
-the rocket launcher and both heads on the special weapon users are from th space marine kit.

I had lots of fun painting these, and am most proud of how the plasma pistol turned out.

*ALSO, SORRY ABOUT THE SHINE. TOOK PHOYO OUTSIDE IN THE SUN. WILL GET AROUND TO GETTING BETTER PHOTOS SOON.*

Great models mate, and a few tips to improve the painting :)
- i know its a lot of work (i have models similar to these, and i hardly have the patience to complete them all), but highlighting certain edges and areas can greatly improve the look of the work!
- try mixing some white or lighter silver into the default silver, and run the edge of the brush along the bumps and lines (eg. the boot edges, the chainmail, the hammer power-wire).
- coat the bases in some dirt after the model is attached, and then precoat the entire model. this way, you can paint the base, which will have some extra texture!
- modelling grass can do wonders to the bases :D

Overall, excellent work mate, and good luck with future projects :)

i dont highlight my models as a rule. I know how, but i preffer not to, thought its something im considering doing with my nids. I painted them in boltgun metal and gave it a light drybrush of mytheral silver, though it doesnt show well in these pictures.
As to the dases, i have so many tubs of basing material, but by the time i finnish painting, i cant be bothered to do it XD
I based some of my nids before priming, but found i preferd the natural colours of the basing materail. So my plan right now is, sometime in the future, to base lots of models all at the same time.
